SafePick is committed to protecting the privacy of parents, students, transport drivers, and school administrators. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the SafePick mobile application and website.

Information We Collect

Because our core mission is child safety and real-time tracking, we collect the following:

Parent / Guardian Data

Name, phone number, and Firebase Auth UID.

Driver Data

Name, phone number, gender, vehicle number, and real-time GPS location during active trips.

Student Data

Child's name, grade, school assignment, home location (GPS coordinates), and trip statistics (attendance rates).

Trip & Attendance Data

Exact timestamps and geographic locations are logged when a child is boarded (checked in) or offboarded (checked out) using our QR code scanning system.

How We Use Your Information

• •To provide real-time updates and Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs) to parents.
• •To generate digital driver manifests and route maps.
• •To verify student identity using generated QR codes (SPXXXX IDs).
• •To maintain historical ride logs for safety audits.

Data Security & Storage

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-bit encryption and in transit via SSL/TLS protocols. We use local SQLite databases strictly for temporary offline-sync queuing to ensure no attendance data is lost during internet outages.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or your child's data to third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with Google Firebase — our secure infrastructure provider — solely to facilitate app functionality.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request the permanent deletion of your account and your child's data at any time. To request data deletion, contact us at our contact page or use the account management features within the SafePick app.
